Updating system software
If you can’t update wirelessly on your i OS device, you can update manually using i Tunes on a computer that you trust. If your computer is using Personal Hotspot on the i OS device that you’re updating, connect your computer to a different Wi-Fi or Ethernet network before you update.
Some versions of i OS can be downgraded after the fact, so that would be the next approach if you accidentally installed an update you didn’t want, you can learn more about downgrading system software here. This obviously requires i Tunes, and at the moment there is no way to ignore or end i OS software updates from happening on the device itself directly in i OS.Users can stop the i OS software update notifications on an i Phone, i Pad, or i Pod touch but the i OS update will attempt to continue to download itself to the device and harangue the user to install unless some preventative measures are taken.-Download the appropriate firmware update for the component we are updating.NOTE: The firmware update file you should download is the Windows 32 or 64 bit -It doesn’t matter what operating system you are running: Windows Server, VMware, Linux, etc -A bare-metal update is used that will run via Life Cycle Controller when the system reboots Go ahead and log into the i Drac7 Web GUI interface. If the Wi-Fi indicator starts quickly blinking green, release the MUTE button: a software update is necessary and the software starts downloading.
The Wi-Fi indicator continues blinking until the download is finished.
If the progress bar of the i OS software update in i Tunes changes to “stopped” you know you were successful in stopping the download and update process from going any further.
Then you can simply select the item in the downloads list and hit the “Delete” key to remove it.
The process can be repeated the next time an update is accidentally starting to download, but it always requires quick action.
You must move quick because some software updates are quite small and with a fast internet connection the i OS update will quickly download and start trying to install.
Please update them to V174 first and then to the latest version.(This note is not relevant to the CC-9068).
